The Amadeus choir does it again! I loved this new composition and presentation. My only critique is because of the lighting choice and small screen for projecting the film.
I ADORED the music and performance of the choir and chamber musicians, it was so evocative and engaging but the lighting in the house did not match. It appeared to me that the lights were designed without thought to the experience of the audience. Going from the black of a dark house to blinding white, at first I thought it was a mistake. Later there was intense flashing, and this caused me discomfort. I am a migraine sufferer and it was not only distracting to the experience of the film but often painful for my eyes and vision, I was surprised that there was no warning in the program regarding the lights. The best moments were when they let the lights stay at a dark red to reflect the atmosphere of the vampire, or the deep blue of the ship at sea.
HOWEVER, the entire purpose of the concert was to share this great new music and the Amadeus Choir did a fantastic job and I was thrilled to listen and support them!
